A Cabell County doctor facing charges has pleaded guilty.

Dr. Anita Dawson plead guilty to aiding and abetting another to acquire or obtain controlled substances by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception and subterfuge.

The plea came in federal court Monday morning.

The West Virginia State Board of Osteopathy suspended Dawson's medical license in 2010.

According to a complaint issued by the West Virginia Board of Osteopathy, Dawson prescribed high levels of prescription medication to several patients who later died.

Federal agents also raided her Milton pain clinic in 2010.

Dawson is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 29.
