West Virginia State University's Helping Our Undergraduates Succeed in Education (HOUSE) Program is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, according to a news release from West Virginia State University.

The event will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at the program's facility on the Institute campus.

The program has a transitional living facility and a row of apartment units.

The program is intended for first-time students who are trying to get their college degree and have faced challenges in their life.

Students participating in the program can live in the facility their first two years at the university, before living on their own.

The event will allow visitors to see the facility and speak with participants and staff members.

The HOUSE Program is located at 303 Douglas St. in Institute.
