The city of Hurricane has a new member of council.
Mayor Scott Edwards confirmed Steven Goff was appointed to fill the three years remaining on former councilman Scott Cunningham's term in office.
Cunningham was arrested on charges of sending sexually-explicit text messages to an 11-year old girl in his neighborhood and resigned.
Hurricane will also have another council seat to fill.
Tuesday afternoon, Edwards received the resignation of councilwoman Donna Dunlevy. She's moving out of town because her husband is being transferred to Tennessee.
There is also three years left on Dunlevy's term in office.
