Two families have different views on who the victim is in a case involving two students and a teacher at Matewan Middle School.
Math teacher James Keatly was arraigned Tuesday morning in Mingo County on 3 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of battery.
The victims say the events happened between September and November of 2011.
The grandmother of one of the reported victims wanted to remain anonymous to protect her granddaughter's identity. But she says the child would not lie.
"She is an honor roll student. She does wonderful at school and she makes perfect grades good grades you know. It's took a toll on her."
We also spoke to the mother of the accused teacher. Hester Keatley along with her son and two daughters, have worked in the school system for years.
"I'd like for everyone to know my son is being so scrutinized in the public eye. He is not guilty of harming any child."
Keatley is not allowed to go on school property and has been suspended since December.
