Senator Jay Rockefeller announced more than $1.5 million in grants for West Virginia that will support job creation in advanced manufacturing, tourism and agriculture throughout the state, according to a news release.

"These grants are great news for West Virginia because they will create new opportunities for jobs and trade, plus the building of a better future for our state and citizens," Rockefeller said in the release. "I have said before that we must take a collaborative approach toward economic development, and that is exactly what these organizations have done to help secure this funding."

The Southern West Virginia Rural Jobs Accelerator Partnership was awarded $717,985.

The WV Value Chain Cluster Initiative was awarded $815,000.

There were 62 applications and 13 recipients chosen, according to the release.
