Thundering Herd basketball takes advantage of new NCAA rule

Football season might be here, but basketball took center stage in Huntington on Tuesday.

No rest for the weary as the the Marshall basketball team was hard at work at the Henderson Center. The Thundering Herd ran through their fourth one hour summer practice. This summer practice is new this year.

The NCAA allotted two hours of practice a week for five weeks, and these guys like the new rule.

"Ah man, it's great. It's helping us a lot," said DeAndre Kane, "I think we need this, we got a lot of young guys so we all gotta get on the same page, get our chemistry together, so I think them starting this new rule is great for us."

Marshall Center Dennis Tinnon added, "I really like it, I mean I think it gives us a chance to achieve the things we want to do this year, you know, big plans."

"We want to be one of the teams on top, we want to finish on top of everything and with this one hour practice it gives us an opportunity to get ahead."
