Gallery 842 will present ‘On Desire', an exhibition of artwork by Kate Shannon opening this Friday, August 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Shannon is an assistant professor of art at The Ohio State University's Mansfield campus, where she teaches new media courses and is the curator of the Pearl Conard Art Gallery.
She has had her work displayed nationally, most recently at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in San Francisco, the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, and Texas Woman's University.
The exhibit will feature digital animations and digitally manipulated photographs from several works relating to the concept of desire.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from the University of Kentucky and her M.F.A. in photography from The Ohio State University.
The exhibit will be on display until Sept. 7.
Hours for the gallery located at 842 4th Ave. in Huntington, are from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
The gallery experience is free to the public.
