Wirt County sheriff has new vehicle to fight crime

Posted: Updated:

One area sheriff's department has a new tool to fight crime.

Wirt County Sheriff Keith Wilson Junior has a new vehicle.

Some sheriff's departments would take the vehicle for granted, but Wilson says he would often get stuck going some places in the county, in the vehicle he used to drive.

The vehicle cost about $31,000.

Wilson says it will allow him to go places easily.  He also says the new vehicle provides him with improved communications tools, like a hands free device.  He also says the vehicle has a radio device, that allows him to be able to communicate with people, who have older radio systems, who may be using a radio for help.
