Weight lifting can be a tough sport whether you're training for an event or just staying in shape.
13 Sports found one bodybuilder who's had a lot of weight to lift during his life.
Brad Hutchinson has been weight lifting for nearly 10 years.
"This right here is my comfort zone. Every problem I have is out the window," Hutchinson said.
For the last 3 years, Brad's been training for the Mr. West Virginia Bodybuilding competition.
"It's really something I wanted to achieve...I wanted to do.."
Brad may look like your average guy at the gym but actually he's had to overcome multiple obstacles in his that many of us have never encountered.
"The Only thing different is that I was born without a left hand. I've always had to work and overcome stuff. I've had to find ways around things," Hutchinson said.
Growing up, Brad was active. He wanted to prove that he wasn't different.
"I always had that kind of chip on my shoulder where I didn't want to be....I wanted to be like everyone else. People would say...and point at me and say that 'I want to guard that guy.' And that's fine. I always took it as a challenge, Hutchinson said."
Brad says sometimes he wishes he had a second hand, but dealing with that weight in life has made him stronger in many ways.
"I think it's give me an edge to always want to overcome things and always want to push hard and be able to do whatever I want to do," Hutchinson added.
Corey Lambert, Brad's childhood friend, still can't believe what Brad accomplish's so much.
"As a friend, it amazes me every time I see him. Words can't describe it," Lambert said.
There are times when frustration weighs on Brad, but all he has to do is look at himself.
"Haha, look at that. I just got those. Anytime I find myself feeling sorry for myself, I look down there and I'm ready to roll," Hutchinson joked.
Brad has endured many road blocks in his 31 years, but he hopes all of his hard work and perseverance will pay off in three months at the Mr. West Virginia competition. And he hopes no matter where he places, people will learn from his journey.
"You achieve whatever you want as long as you put mind to it have those short term goals
and you meet them and overcome them," Hutchinson said.
