Roasted corn on the grill can be a delicious summertime treat. Wednesday, people from across West Virginia gathered at the state capitol complex for a free ear.

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture hosted the event as part of its final "capitol market at the capitol".

In addition to the ears of corn, organizers made sure plenty of salt and butter was available to top off the sweet corn. The state's agriculture commissioner, Gus Douglass, talked about the event. "We were able to treat them on our last day of the farmers market at the capitol, give them all an ear of corn and we are roasting a few hundred of them here," said Douglass.

The started at 11 a.m. And continued until the corn ran out.
