WV PSC should reject Century Aluminum power plan

Posted: Updated:

As the West Virginia Public Service Commission considers Century Aluminum's plan to re-open its plant in Ravenswood, we would strongly and emphatically urge them to reject any deal that would tax other AEP customers to subsidize their operating costs.

We already pay quite a bit to turn on the lights. Adding what could be hundreds of dollars a year onto our bill is unfair and un-American.

This is a simple case and it should be a simple decision. No for-profit company has any right to ask us to pay for their operating costs.

It is unfair for the politicians to hide this tax in our electric bills. We urge everyone involved, including Governor Tomblin, to reject this boondoggle of a deal.
