Mountwest Community & Technical College is hosting an open house of its new campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11. A special ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. with the grand opening celebration to follow.
The grand opening celebration is a free event open to the community that will include building tours of the new campus, refreshments, vendor booths, and games/inflatables for children.
At differing times in the past, the new Mountwest campus has been the home of Ashland Coal corporate headquarters, Arch Coal offices, an Applied Card call center and a DirecTV customer service center. The campus atop the hill at 2205 Fifth Street Road has more than 115,000 square feet of adaptable space.
Mountwest offers two-year degree and one-year certificate programs in Allied Health, Business and Information Technology, Human Services, Occupational and Technical Programs, as well as numerous continuing education opportunities and customized instruction.
