Lions Club's Summerfest raising money to help people see more clearly

A number of festivals are happening this weekend around the region, including one that raising money to help people see more clearly.

The Lions Club's Summerfest kicked off Friday. People can buy raffle tickets for door prizes, they have a train ride, other games and a clown.

It all takes place at the Campbells Creek Lions Club in Charleston. The festival starts at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

All the money goes to buy glasses for the needy. "We are just a little clog in the system, but we purchase about $4,000 dollars worth of eyeglasses for the needy each year. We, about five years ago we made a health walk, a quarter mile health walk around the park at Point Lick. We just do numerous things in the community to help the community out," said Harold Ferrell, president of the Campbell's Creek Lions Club.
