The McDonald's at Southridge in Kanawha County celebrated its grand re-opening Friday morning. The first 100 customers who bought an extra value meal got a coupon for a free Big Mac, every week, for a year.
In addition to the special offers and giveaways, $1 from every transaction that happened until 2 p.m., was donated to the Ronald McDonald house in Kanawha City. "When we do a reopening we do like to donate to a local charity and we support the Ronald McDonald House heavily. I hear amongst the restaurants in Charleston, and so we just wanted to give back to the house that love built," said Emily Myers with McDonald's.
For the last 30 days, the Southridge restaurant went through a transformation, including a new play place, bigger parking lot and newer interior.
