Some teachers are already back in meetings as they prepare for the new school year. The Student Success Summit in Morgantown on Friday was part of that process.
A new website launched during the summit that will help students with career counseling and mentoring. It's called The Common Ground Partnership and it's fueled by a relationship between the state board of education, the West Virginia Department of Education and all military branches. "I think the dropout prevention and the mentoring programs are very important today and the military has a lot of those programs. I also think that when a military personnel comes in, they're in that uniform and the kids listen to them," said Priscilla Haden with the West Virginia Board of Education.
