The Mountaineers have the day off after opening camp on Thursday.
Two practices were helmets only, but Saturday they put the pads on. Sunday, coaches looked at tape and seeing what they have. Earlier this week, The USA Today coaches poll had the Mountaineers ranked 11th in the country.
Normally, coaches poo poo pre season polls, but not Coach Dana Holgorsen.
"It's important to be in the Top 20 because the Top 20 teams get more recognition so it's good to be there," said Holgorsen, "Are going to throw a party about it? probably not. Are we going to talk about it? probably not."
The No. 11 pre-season ranking is the highest for the Mountaineers since 2008 when the came in at No. 8.
