Cabell County students will head back to the classroom later this month.
The Cabell-Huntington Health Department hosted its annual Back to School Immunization Event Monday.
It took place at the Cabell-Huntington Health Department on Seventh Avenue in Huntington.
Students could get all of their required vaccinations for the upcoming school year.
The Cabell-Huntington Health Department will be offering extended clinic hours through the beginning of school for those unable to attend Monday's event.
Organizers encourage parents to bring their child's shot record to make sure they get what they need.
"There are several diseases that could become fatal so it is important to get immunized and protect themselves and classmates. Being in a classroom children are at high risk because of the close proximity for the students," said Elizabeth Ayers, Cabell-Huntington Health Department.
Ayers reminds parents that students who do not have all of the necessary immunizations will not be allowed to attend school.
