A man charged with child abuse was back in court Monday.
Laurence Bess waived his preliminary hearing in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Bess is charged with one count of child abuse and two counts of child neglect, both felonies.
He was arrested in and charged in July after prosecutors say he threw his toddler on a bed causing her to fall on a heater suffering major injuries to her head and face and a fractured ankle.
Bess is in Western Regional Jail with an $80,000 bond.
