The Wayne County Fair had a rough year in 2011 when the amusement ride vendor was a no-show after the board allegedly put down a hefty deposit.

This year, the Wayne County Fair Board wanted to ensure a great venue for the fair and they chose Camden Park. All of the same activities and exhibits are available with the exception of the livestock. The animals were shown earlier in the week and the winners will be shown at the fair on Friday.

The board believes this new arrangement is a better fit.

"It's a huge commitment to get those grounds ready. To have the responsibility of security, trash, electrical, and setting up the livestock. We needed help. It's been a win-win for Camden Park, the fair, and Wayne County," said Gary Napier, Wayne Fair Board President.

The fair and Camden Park teamed up in the early 1970s. The new arrangement is expected to be long-term.
