Victims of Scioto County, OH, crash recovering

The six victims of a two-vehicle crash in Scioto County, Ohio, are recovering, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at about 10:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 on state Route 104 near McDermott Pond Creek Road, according to a news release from the OSHP.

Earl L. Isaac Jr., 31, of West Portsmouth, was traveling north on Route 104 when he went left of center while trying to pass another vehicle, the news release states. He hit a southbound vehicle driven by Brian K. Howard, 42, also of West Portsmouth.

Isaac and his two passengers, Tiffany N. Pontious, 22, of West Portsmouth, and Jeffrey L. Pontious, 53, of Waverly, were flown to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, the news release states.

Howard and his three passengers were taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center: Jillian Cunningham, 15, Emily Howard, 11, and Tyler Howard, 15, all of West Portsmouth.

All six were listed in stable condition Tuesday afternoon, according to the news release.

Troopers still are investigating the crash.
