Fit Fest is a community event that encourages a healthier community, healthy lifestyles, and support for the Paul Ambrose Trail for Health (PATH).
The 2012 Fit Fest is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at Ritter Park in Huntington, according to a press release. PATH is named after Dr. Paul Ambrose who died in the 9/11 attacks. Ambrose was an activist for healthy living.
This year's Fit Fest includes a 5K run/walk, 10K run, Kid's Dash, and healthy exhibits and demonstrations. Early registration for the 5K and 10K ends on Aug. 13. To prepare for the runs, the Rec Center at Marshall University is providing classes each week until Fit Fest.
