Working for charity work might seem like it doesn't pay much, but for one young lady the opposite is true.
Diane Lanier likes to be called "Dee". She wants to get a doctorate degree in radiology someday and she's already well on her way with a scholarship to college. The award was given on Wednesday at the Cross Lanes Tim Horton's location.
Dee put in several volunteer hours while tutoring science and English for a Tim Horton's team. She said the teaching was a fulfilling experience. "I think it's very important. You want these youth to learn to be great leaders one day, and I'm leading them as well, they'll follow in suit," said Lanier.
The scholarship is $1,000 toward her college costs.
