Cabell Huntington Hospital is hosting Get Well Wednesdays to make sure kids are ready as they head back to school.
Wednesday at the Huntington Mall, the topic was "Chat with a Doctor". A pediatrician was on hand to answer important health questions that parents might have. There was also several tests and screenings that health professionals provided, as well as free immunizations for the students.
Health officials say it's important that children be tested every year.
"There are many diseases, such as high blood pressure or diabetes, that don't have any symptoms. It's very important to do screenings periodically. We recommend that children have yearly screenings by their physicians,"said Dr. James Bailes who is a Pediatrician at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
On August 15, Cabell Huntington Hospital's final Get Well Wednesday will be partnered with the YMCA to host fitness fun for children and adults.
