Students at one West Virginia college have nearly aced the one test that would allow them to practice nursing all over the United States.
Ninety-three percent of the nursing students at West Virginia University Institute of Technology passed the NCLEX-RN licensure exam on their first try, the school said in a news release.
NCLEX, or National Council Licensure Examination, was created by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, which consists of boards of nursing in all 50 states, according to the news release. Passing the test allows these students the license to be a Registered Nurse anywhere in the U.S.
"We are extremely proud of our students and our faculty – this is a testament to all of their hard work and dedication," university CEO Carolyn Long said in the news release. "I am pleased that so many of our graduates have chosen to stay and serve the people of West Virginia. This is a critical need for our state."
WVU Tech, through West Virginia University, is the only school in southern West Virginia that offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
