West Virginia will receive more than $947,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall and U.S. Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin, all D-W.Va.
The money will go toward enhancing forensic science and criminal evidence processing capabilities, supporting juvenile justice system improvements, and state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts, according to the news release.
The West Virginia State Police and West Virginia Division of Justice and Community Services are the recipients of the money.
