Frontier Communications said Friday morning that service should now be fully restored to thousands of customers in the Charleston area.
Crews had been working to make repairs since a construction crew cut two major cables and disrupted service to customers from Bigley Avenue to the Mink Shoals area on Wednesday.
"We understand the gravity of the situation and have worked nonstop to make repairs," said General Manager Dennis Bloss in a news release. "We want our customers to know that we will attempt to recover the costs for these repairs so they do not have to bear that considerable expense."
Frontier workers could not get access to the site initially, which was locked up after construction crews left for the day on Wednesday.
