The family of a woman killed in a gruesome murder is speaking out after the man accused of killing her tried to commit suicide.
On Wednesday, Charles March tried to kill himself at the South Central Regional Jail, according to jail officials.
He left a three-page suicide note that said, "I can't go to prison for something I didn't do."
Goble's family and friends said they aren't really surprised by his latest stunt.
They just want justice for the woman they knew and loved.
"Everyone is still keeping their thoughts on track with the trial, regardless of what he does, they want him to stand trial and justice to be served," said Billy Herrald, a longtime family friend of the Goble's.
Newly filed court documents include a copy of the suicide note. Prosecutors also filed a motion to admit March's confession to killing Goble as evidence in his trial.
In the confession, investigators said he told them he killed Goble and dismembered her, before burying her in his backyard.
Herrald said not a day goes by that they don't think about and remember the woman who was a friend to so many people.
"I've known Kathy for a long time. She was always just the happiest person, like has been said many times. I've never seen her without a smile. If you were having a bad day, she would turn it around immediately by talking to her for a few seconds," he said.
This week, March's defense attorney also filed a motion to have him evaluated by a doctor to see if he's competent to stand trial.
Goble's family said they aren't buying it, and they want March to face the charges brought against him.
"No one is sure the real reason why he's doing what he's doing. But, the fact remains that he admitted to this crime and everyone thinks he should be tried for it," Herrald said.
March also wrote, "When your children no longer love you, what is there left. I love my boys; all three and my grand-babies.
March will be arraigned in circuit court next Friday.
