Ohio University's Southern Campus in Ironton hosted it's annual block party to get students excited about the school year.
The community was welcomed to the campus to enjoy live music, food, and games. It's a way to get students familiar with the campus and future students interested in furthering their education.
"It helps all of us. It helps our community and local businesses. We are all one community. Having Ohio University in Ironton, and Lawrence County, and the tri-state, benefits us all," said Robert Pleasant, who is the Director of Enrollment and Student Services.
Before the block party, the University held a scholarship recognition ceremony to congratulate the students.
