It looks like nearly 700 workers in the Huntington area will not go on strike for now.

Alloy plant union workers at Special Metals in Huntington said they wanted an affordable health care plan and for the plant not to contract out their jobs.

A union spokesperson said a tentative agreement was reached just after midnight on Friday. Union Representative Denny Longwell is not sharing details of the agreement, but said he wants union workers to learn about it first, at a meeting set for Saturday.

Union and company officials came up with the tentative agreement after five weeks of talks. Union workers are set to take a vote on the tentative agreement Monday.

A company official would only confirm that he was aware of the meeting scheduled for Saturday.
