According to deputies in Wayne County, a man was arrested after he refused to stop during a pursuit.

Deputies say Steven Huffman of Salt Rock was driving a red Chrysler Lebaron on U.S. Route 152 in Lavalette, when he drove left of the center line.

They also noticed the car did not have a state inspection sticker on it.

When deputies attempted to stop Huffman, he sped up attempting to evade the traffic stop.

A short pursuit lasted less than a mile before Huffman pulled over and surrendered.

Deputies say Huffman smelled of alcohol and tests revealed he was intoxicated.

Huffman was arrested for fleeing in a vehicle, fleeing while D.U.I., D.U.I. first offense, not having a state M.V.I. sticker, improper registration, and no insurance.

He is currently in the Western Regional Jail with a $15,000 bond.
