A South Charleston couple was sentenced to federal prison for distributing crack cocaine, according to a news release from United States Attorney Booth Goodwin.
Goodwin said Darrell Emmett Spencer, 42, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Spencer's wife Leslie Yvonne Carter, 39, was sentenced to three years and one month in prison.
The pair told authorities they sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant with the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team.
Carter also admitted to selling drugs while on Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial's property in Kanawha City, according to authorities.
Both defendants previously pleaded guilty to drug charges in May.
