UPDATE
The inmate's name is 54-year-old Joseph Daniel Albohn, according to Joe Delong, the acting executive director of the Regional Jail Authority. "He hung himself in his cell early this morning," said Delong.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department had Albohn on child pornography charges earlier in August. Deputies charged him with two counts of possessing material depicting minors in sexual acts.
According to the criminal complaint, a concerned family member contacted law enforcement about possible child pornography pictures on Albohn's computer.
The family member confronted Albohn, who admitted to having the images on his computer, according to the complaint.
Investigators said they found multiple pictures of minors engaged in sexually explicit activity on Albohn's computer.
Albohn had been in jail since his arrest. His bail had been set at $8,000.
