Officials with the West Virginia Department of
Transportation this morning announced the creation of a Blue Ribbon Commission
that will focus on highway funding.
The Commission will look for new ways to fund highway
projects in West Virginia,
Secretary Paul Mattox said during the announcement. It will establish a
long-term funding plan for highways and seek input from state lawmakers,
organizations and the public, according to the DOT.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin will announce who will serve on the
commission later this week, he said during the announcement.
