The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives has given a grant to Boyd County to preserve and manage records.

County Clerk Debbie Jones' office will use the $15,000 grant for salary support for, "...converting aperture card images from CD to imaging system, examining for quality, and linking to index information," the news release states.

That will help make public records available to people in the future, Gov. Steve Beshear said in the news release.

"The Local Records Program provides grant funds and direct service to local agencies for the purpose of preserving, managing and providing access to local government records throughout the Commonwealth," he said in the news release. "These services will ensure that citizens will have access to those records in the future. With the issuance of these grant funds, local agencies will be able to fully utilize new digital technologies in providing in-agency access to the records as well as online access in the future."
