The West Virginia State Police has confirmed that Michael Sampson has been captured. He is in police custody. Details about his capture have not been released.

The West Virginia State Police is looking for a work release inmate who escaped in Beckley.
Michael Sampson escaped from the Beckley Correction Center at about 4 p.m. Thursday, troopers said.
He is 5-feet, 9-inches tall, has brown hair and blue eyes, police said. Sampson has multiple tattoos on both hands and forearms.
Sampson was serving work release time after a Harrison County burglary conviction, according to police.
He was last seen at the McDonald's in the Beckley Plaza on Eisenhower Drive.
