Three escape massive fire in a home on Walnut Street in Kanawha County
At about 1:30 a.m., Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene of a reported a stabbing at 1 Blue Creek Road in Elkview.
In speaking with witnesses, police determined the victim Claude Fred Hensley, 51, of Clendenin, was involved in an altercation with another male at the party. The other male began striking Hensley with his fist as Hensley was attempting to leave. The male then cut Hensley's throat.
A Robert James West III, 30, was also transported to the hospital after being assaulted by several party-goers. His injuries are unknown.
Hensley was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment. He remains in critical condition. The Kanawha Bureau of Investigation is investigating and they do have person of interest. Once the investigation has concluded, charges may be filed.
Also in Blue Creek, at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, there was a report of a single vehicle accident along Blue Creek Road, when a vehicle struck a pole. According to reports, one person was trapped and a second was unconscious. There is also no word on the extent of those injuries.
