Members of the public will be invited to speak at three meetings about the state of energy in West Virginia.

The West Virginia Division of Energy has scheduled three public meetings to gather public recommendations on the West Virginia Energy Opportunities Document, according to a  news release from the division.

The document will provide discussions on greater energy efficiency and larger energy production through traditional fossil energy forms and renewable energy.

The public meetings will be held in Huntington on Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Azalea Room at Big Sandy Superstore Arena; in Morgantown on Thursday, Sept. 6, in Grand Hall AB at the Erickson Alumni Center on the West Virginia University campus; and in Martinsburg on Friday, Sept. 7, in the Foxcroft Ballroom at the Holiday Inn. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Members of the public may register to speak at the meeting or post comments at www.energywv.org/energyplan.
