Most schools in the area are back in session. One group of schools getting ready to head back is the Ashland Independent Schools in Kentucky.
Students at those schools start Wednesday.
Staff and teachers at Ashland Paul Blazer High School spent the day in meetings and talking about goals for the upcoming school year.
Teachers put the final touches on their classrooms.
"Today is about preparation. Tomorrow is much more relief, because we get to do what we want to do which is educate the students," said Derek Runyon, principal.
The school year for Ashland Independent Schools runs through May 29.
