A legendary country music performer will play one of his last shows in Huntington in September.

George Jones announced Aug. 14 that he is retiring after more than 50 years on the road. Jones is planning about 60 dates on his farewell tour, with the Big Sandy Superstore Arena among them.

The show is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21, according to a news release from the arena.

"We are thrilled that George is making one last stop at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena before retiring from the road," arena General Manager Brian Sipe said in the news release. "While our date is not in the 2013 The Grand Tour list of dates, we know this will be his last time at the arena and we're thrilled to be able to have him one last time. And with tickets starting at just $25, you simply can't pass up this opportunity if you're a true country music fan."

Tickets are on sale for $25, $35 and $45, according to the news release.
