There's a lot of excitement in the air for some local teenagers.
They got to break in their brand new $20 million high school on Thursday morning.
The new Buffalo High School is being dubbed the newest and coolest high tech school in the state.
Principal Richard Grim said the school is now part of the new tech network.
Students will get to trade in their text books for computers and do as much hands on learning as possible.
Grim says a lot of planning and preparation made this school a reality.
It's a dream that was made possible thanks to Putnam County voters, who passed a school bond back in 2009.
"I'm really excited. We've been looking for a new school in the Buffalo area for a long time. I never thought I'd see it in my lifetime. But, the county passed a bond and built us a new school. You don't see that very often being a single A school," Grim said.
Senior Bryan Simpson said he is excited to finish out his last year.
"We'll be the first ones to graduate. We get the honor of being the first graduating class here," he said.
Students said they can't believe they have this state of the art facility all to themselves.
"It's newer, it's bigger, and it's just much better for us 21st century learners," said freshman Shelby Turley.
Grim said all eyes are on this new school and curriculum.
"It'll be a challenge. I think my teachers are going to work harder than they've ever worked in their life. But, I think it's going to be very rewarding because they're going to see how much the students are engaged," he said.
There's close to 320 students enrolled at BHS this year.
The high school can hold up to 400 students.
Grim thinks they'll easily meet this number in a couple of years.
