CHARLESTON, West Virginia -
People in West Virginia are no strangers to natural disasters and some people from the Mountain State are stepping up to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac.
Some volunteers from the Putnam County area flew to some of the most affected regions Thursday as part of a relief effort organized by the American Red Cross.
One volunteer said she also helped during Hurricane Katrina.
"I just know when I left there seven years ago I kind of felt like I wasn't done and now I am going back," said Jennifer Carpenter, a Red Cross Volunteer.
The Red Cross offers extensive training for volunteers like Carpenter who want to help in the aftermath of disasters like this. To learn more about how to sign up, just click on the link.
