HUNTINGTON, West Virginia -

A Huntington Junior College student has tested positive for tuberculosis.

Spokesman Jim Garrett said the student has not been inside the school for several days, adding more than 80 students, faculty and staff have been tested for T-B and those tests have all come back negative.

The person is being treated at the Cabell-Huntington Health Department and has been prescribed 12 to 16 pills for treatment, according to Health Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Ayers.  She says the person will receive treatment for tuberculosis for up to nine months.

Ayers said the department is still trying to determine how the person got infected with tuberculosis.
