The northbound lane of I-77 near the Mahan area of Fayette County is shut down due to a tractor trailer accident. The accident is within a couple miles of the Kanawha County line.

On Wednesday, Trooper Eric Workman was laid to rest.
As we begin to come to terms with this senseless tragedy, I hope we can all
take a moment to remember that police work is truly dangerous.
Every time an officer reports for duty, there is a chance they won't come home
again.
In the coming days, as a way to honor Trooper Workman and Cpl. Marshall Bailey,
if you see a police officer on patrol, offer them a simple thank you. Their sacrifice is great and we owe them our gratitude.
