As the price for gasoline continues to fluctuate, the Mountain State is looking for cleaner, cheaper ways to get around.
The West Virginia Division of Energy hosted a Natural Gas Vehicle Workshop on Wednesday morning. It was designed to give state employees the chance to check out some of the latest transportation technology.
Employees also had the opportunity to check out the West Virginia Department of Environmental Proection's Prius and Durango, both powered by natural gas, and the Chevy Malibu hybrid, owned by the state Department of Energy.
Natural gas powers more than 100,000 vehicles in the United States and more than 11 million worldwide.
With Marcellus Shale development on the fast track, leaders in West Virginia have said they want to move toward using natural gas for transportation.
