Flags to be lowered in WV for Neil Armstrong

CHARLESTON, WV (AP) -

U.S. and state flags in West Virginia will be lowered in memory of Neil Armstrong.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said flags will actually rise Friday after they were lowered in honor of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and other American embassy workers killed in Libya this week.

They then will be lowered again in memory of Armstrong. The first man to take a giant leap onto the moon died in August in Ohio.

Tomblin said the flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Sunday.
