On Tuesday, Alpha Natural Resources announced it's cutting
production, eliminating 1,200 jobs and closing of a number of mines in West
Virginia.
This is a tough blow to our state and we want the best for
those affected by this decision, but this is just one more wake up call for our
elected leaders that we need to make this state a place that welcomes
investment.
Coal, by itself, can no longer keep us afloat. We can either
play the blame game and stay stuck in the past, or we can create a environment
where all businesses thrive and give the people of this state a real shot at
prosperity.
