The U.S. Postal Service wanted to bring a clear message to small businesses in Charleston on Tuesday - "going postal" isn't so bad.
The agency held a business expo in the lobby of the Charleston office on Lee Street.
The idea was to invite local businesses of all sizes and educate them on how to attract potential business customers using the mail.
Even in this day of email and texting, the postal service said believes that traditional mail is still a viable tool, and that it can be more efficient than other methods of communication. "One of our goals is to try to provide more efficient and cost-effective ways for the businesses in our area to improve their end result," said Sandy Underwood, a specialist with Mail Solutions.
The U.S. Postal Service is also trying to change its own business model after losing $5.2 billion in three months.
