University of Charleston football player charged with battery

Freshman University of Charleston linebacker Daniel D. Bartley was arrested Monday on one count of battery.

According to the criminal complaint, on Sept. 17, Bartley punched Mark Anthony Edwards in the face, trying to pick a fight in front of several witnesses.

The incident occurred in room 225 Brotherton Hall on the University of Charleston campus.
