The northbound lane of I-77 near the Mahan area of Fayette County is shut down due to a tractor trailer accident. The accident is within a couple miles of the Kanawha County line.

A woman was killed and a man injured after being struck by a car in Nitro late Wednesday night.
Sara K. Lowery, 22, of St. Albans, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, which was in the 400 block of Cross Lanes Drive, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Henry Stuck Jr., 40, address unknown, was injured and taken to Charleston Area Medical Center. His condition was not reported early Thursday morning.
Lowery and Stuck were hit by a 2007 Saturn Vue driven by Curtis Schoolcraft, of Poca, the news release states. Schoolcraft was been driving south on Cross Lanes Drive at the time of the accident.
Capt. J.S. Bailes, of the Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident, the news release states. The early investigation indicates Schoolcraft was properly operating the car at the time of the wreck.
A witness told police the couple might have been involved in a disturbance prior to the accident, according to the news release.
