In 2012, two legends of the game took part in the first-ever Greenbrier Champions Tennis Classic.
Former No. 1's Pete Sampras and John McEnroe played in front of a sold-out crowd. Sampras won in a third-set tiebreaker.
In his professional career, Sampras won 14 grand slam titles. He was the top player in the world for six straight years. His opponent, McEnroe, won seven grand slam singles titles. He was ranked No. 1 for four years.
The two combined to win 21 grand slam singles titles.
Sampras ended up winning the three-set event in a tie breaker on Saturday.
